Based in Houston, TX, George Angelis has been working in the marine industry for more than 20 years as a surveyor, fleet technical superintendent, and sea-going engineer. Involved in surveying since 2008, George has conducted a variety of damage surveys, casualty investigations, salvage operations, towages, and risk identification / minimization services on all manner of ships, marine floating structures and fixed structures. He is fluent in Greek and English.

Principal Surveyor (Houston, TX) | Provided surveying, engineering, and marine consulting in U.S. Gulf Coast, Caribbean, and Central America regions. 

Staff Surveyor (Piraeus, Greece) | Provided surveying, engineering, and marine consulting services in the Eastern Mediterranean and Black Sea regions.

In charge of recovery / disposal and jettison of bulk slurries; responsible for 'over the top' transfers of petroleum cargoes from tanker casualties to lightering vessels. Coordinated firefighting activities following accidental explosions on board LPG carriers. In charge of heavy lift approvals and critical cargo transportation risk assessment & minimization. Responsible for approval of sea-fastening arrangement, subsequent supervision of loading, and approval of securing prior to departure. Accountable for unrepaired damage negotiations and CTL negotiations. In charge of preparation of repair specifications and Conditions of Tender, appraisal / evaluation of Tenders and Bids, and negotiation and identification of damage repair costs within larger repair accounts. Prepared statements and provided deposition testimony (American practice).
