Technical Director and Principal Surveyor of AMA's U.K. branch, Phil Osmotherley has over 25 years' experience in the marine industry. Experience includes sea-going engineering, technical management, project management, surveying, and casualty investigation for H&M Underwriters, P&I Clubs, and third parties. 

Throughout his career, Phil Osmotherley has conducted a wide range of H&M casualty investigations on a broad array of vessel types for Underwriters, as well as for numerous P&I investigations; carried out condition and pre-purchase surveys, third party company investigations, and internal casualty investigations; and provided assistance with legal claims and court cases. 

With nearly two decades of experience in the aviation industry, Phil Osmotherley has piloted GA aircraft and received training on ZFT-approved simulators for Boeing aircraft. He has been involved with engineering projects on airframes, aircraft systems, and engines of grounded Boeing aircraft; surveyed aviation parts in transit; conducted damage and condition surveys, including pre-purchase surveys of airlines and a range of GA aircraft; conducted risk assessments; and provided assistance with legal cases.

Technical Director and Principal Surveyor, Casualty Investigation | Providing independent marine and aviation technical advice, surveying, consulting, claims handling, and expert witness services globally. 

DNV GL Noble Denton Marine Assurance and Advisory (formerly GL and Noble Denton Consultants, Ltd.), London, U.K.  

Senior Principal Engineer: Marine Casualty Investigation | Conducted hull and machinery work, reporting principally to Underwriters concerned. Performed legal work for various worldwide law firms. Conducted P&I Club investigations and third party investigations. Conducted pre-purchase and condition surveys to JH 2013 007 standards and for third party investigations. Acted as a Project Manager for Shell Oil and Gas, U.K., Aberdeen for a long-term project for Shell's 'walk-to-work' operations in 2013, whilst seconded from Noble Denton.
